Considerations in Choosing a Wood Front Door

Appearance

If your home is looking for a door that really makes a statement, often homeowners and designers prefer the look of a wooden entry door. They are entirely custom making the options for wood selection, staining, and number of windows or sidelights endless.

Function

While the custom wood entry door and steel door will have generally the same function, a wood door does need certain conditions to be right for a home. Since wood is a natural product, it will warp if exposed to all day sun, or strong wind bringing with it rain or snow. Having an overhang above a wooden entry door is ideal.

Casing

Casing for a wood entry door can be included in the purchase of the door itself from Riverside. What this means is we can create a casing that is an exact match to the wooden entry door which provides a very polished look. With steel or fiber glass doors this is not always the case and often you are left to find the ‘closest’ match.
