We are seeking a dependable and customer service focused Finish Carpenter, Deficiencies to join our team in Waterloo, ON and contribute to the success of our organization.

As the successful candidate, you will possess a high degree of stress tolerance, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy variety in your daily work routine. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Finish Carpenter, Deficiencies will interact daily with clients, builders, and homeowners. The Finish Carpenter, Deficiencies will repair damaged finish carpentry and custom millwork when required with new products/material. The position performs work in a safe manner and with a high degree of attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Installation of doors, trim and hardware, custom millwork.
  • Fabricate and install molding and trim at jobsites using hand tools and power tools.
  • Measure and cut wooden molding and trim to specified size using tools.
  • Read blueprints to determine location for installation.
  • Fasten molding and trim to interior surfaces.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
  • Attend occupied homes for warranty service repairs maintaining high customer service levels.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve repairs in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with homeowners in a professional manner and ensure they are satisfied with the final product.
  • Report & document incomplete or poor-quality workmanship by staff and subcontractors with use of photos & written and/or verbal description to Project Manager.
  • Complete daily service log with completed work.
  • Report to the Project Manager daily with updates on schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: Residential homes; Construction sites.

Tools: Power/hand tools, Carpentry tools, Measuring tape.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Completion of a 3-to-4-year apprenticeship program is preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years skilled finish trim carpenter experience.
  • Customer service experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes:

  • Knowledge and building and construction material, methods, and tools. · Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service, meeting quality standards for service and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic and other mathematical applications.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
