We are seeking a dependable and safety conscious Driver Helper/Warehouse Team Member to join our team in Stoney Creek, ON and contribute to the success of our organization.

As the successful candidate, you will possess a high degree of stress tolerance, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy variety in your daily work routine. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Driver Helper/Warehouse Team Member is responsible for assisting the Driver by performing tasks involving physical labour to load material/products onto the delivery trucks and unload materials/products at delivery sites. This position is also responsible for accurate and timely picking and prepping orders that are required to be shipped out from the warehouse.

 

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provides support to the Delivery Driver through various hands-on tasks.
  • Move materials/products to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, delivery sites, by hand or using other equipment (i.e. dollies, lifts, etc.).
  • Load products onto delivery trucks in a safe manner using the provided equipment as required (i.e. dollies, lifts, etc.).
  • Unload materials/products at delivery sites in keeping with shipping details or as directed by the Shipping Supervisor, Site Supervisor, or customer.
  • Sorts cargo before loading and unloading.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine material or equipment needs.
  • Accurately picks doors/trims and preps orders for shipping/delivery.
  • Compliance with Riverside policies, Health & Safety Program, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods.
  • General cleanup of delivery truck including but not limited to trash, debris, etc.
  • Demonstrates courtesy and professionalism with all team members, clients, homeowners, and trades.
  • Performs duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager.

Job Specifications:

  • 2+ years’ General Labour experience.
  • Previous warehouse or delivery experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma is preferred.
  • Health & Safety Courses/Training: WHMIS and Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT).
  • Ability to read.
  • Ability to handle and move objects.
  • Basic arithmetic.
  • Dependability – reliable, responsible, and fulfills obligations.
  • High degree of stress tolerance – the ability to deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Relevant knowledge of safe work practices including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Professional/mature demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
  • Ability to cooperate with others.
