Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Division Manager Sales & Operations, the Project Manager will oversee a team including Account Representatives, Account Information Representatives, Project Coordinators and Installers to ensure timely, accurate and quality workmanship for projects to our dedicated clients.
Essential Functions:
Project Management Operations:
- Supervise and support day to day activities of Account Representatives, Account Information Representatives, Project Coordinators and Installers (in house & subcontract), Service Technicians, and Installation Crew Leaders.
- Manage fluctuations in volume of work for the Account Representatives and re-allocate sites and customers based on total volume in general.
- Assist your team in identifying potential solutions to their issues.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Manager to identify long term solutions for ongoing logistics issues.
- Ensure all service requests from customers are being completed properly and on time; obtain purchase orders for work not required by contract.
- Complete Weekly Activities Report summarizing work done, issues encountered and any other relevant information for submission to Director of Operations
- Work to ensure strong relationships with all carpenters.
- Meet with Construction Managers and Site Supervisors to obtain details for upcoming sites and to discuss the customer’s expectations.
- Manage relationships with key Site Supervisors and Construction Managers.
- Review quality with the customer when sites are complete to determine WWW (what went well) and WCBB (what could’ve been better).
- Ensure job site meetings are attended and communicate information required to directors regarding jobsite issues or new ideas.
- Review tender proposals with Senior Estimator and Sales Manager before they are submitted to ensure customer’s service expectation is accounted for in the costing.
- Handle general customer service and inquiries when required.
- Inform Senior Division Manager Sales Operations & Projects of new potential opportunities.
- Inform Senior Division Manager Sales Operations & Projects of ongoing issues with customers and subcontractors when they cannot be solved otherwise.
- Refer new sales opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Management:
- Establishing, monitoring, and managing project targets.
- Train and manage department personnel to solve day-to-day install issues and reach performance standards/goals.
- Holds team accountable for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for the performance management of department staff including, but not limited to, annual performance reviews, performance standards, and KPI’s.
- Participates in the recruitment process with Human Resources for hiring new department personnel.
- Participates in ongoing training and leadership development initiatives and programs.
- Complies and enforces all Company policies and procedures.
Fiscal Responsibility:
- Identifies and implements cost controls for operating and departmental expenditures in compliance with Riverside’s policies and procedures.
- Participates in the preparation of the manufacturing/production fiscal budget.
- Accountable for meeting the fiscal budget.
Health and Safety:
- Accountable for the implementation and enforcement of safety and preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensures that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
- Oversees training of departmental employees on safety processes and procedures relating to manufacturing operations.
- Works with Human Resources near-miss / accident reporting and supports Riverside’s early and safe return to work program.
- Actively participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Work Environment: Office; Showroom; Residential homes; Construction sites.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma.
- Post-secondary education in Project Management, Carpentry and/or Construction or in another related field, or an equivalent of formal education and experience.
- Health & Safety Courses/Training: WHMIS, Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT), Basic Supervisory Training.
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience installing interior finishings is an asset.
- 2+ years’ managerial experience with personnel responsibilities.
- Site/field experience is considered an asset.
- Previous residential construction experience is considered an asset.
