Job Statement:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor(s), the Machine Operator, Moulder, is primarily responsible for the set up and operating of one or more woodworking machines (Moulders) to fabricate wood parts for millwork products. The Machine Operator, Moulder, is accountable for contributing to the daily output of quality products and meeting department KPIs.  This position always performs work in a safe manner and with a high degree of attention to detail.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Setup, load heads, and adjusting moulder to run profiles.
  • Safe and proficient operation of moulder with precise attention to detail.
  • Monitor operation of machines and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Setup and measurements of knives as necessary.
  • Inspect and identify worn out knives, replacing when necessary.
  • Follow production schedule to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Read and interpret specifications and/or follow verbal instructions.
  • Feed stock through feed mechanisms or conveyors into planing, shaping, or sanding machines to produce desired components.
  • Loading/unloading and operation of moulder using lifting assist devices (as required) in a safe manner.
  • Perform quality checks on material using gauges, rule, or caliper. Scrutinize goods to maintain process and product standards.
  • Accurately prepare and bundle orders as per work order and in accordance with Riverside procedures.
  • Perform necessary preventative machine maintenance and cleaning in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.
  • Compliance with Riverside policies, Health and Safety Program, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • General cleanup of production area.
  • May clean and lubricate equipment and replace parts as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School Diploma is preferred.
  • WHMIS and Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT)

 

Experience:

  • 2+ years Moulder Operator experience.
  • Mechanical experience/inclination.
  • Previous woodworking experience is an asset.
  • Previous manufacturing / general production experience is an asset.

The Machine Operator, CNC, is accountable for contributing to the daily output of quality products and meeting department KPIs.  This position always performs work in a safe manner and with a high degree of attention to detail.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up, operate, and tend CNC machine; editing CNC program as necessary.
  • Ensure the correct feed speeds and Tool RPMs are being used.
  • Optimize programs to increase productivity.
  • Perform quality checks on products and parts. Scrutinize goods to maintain process and product standards.
  • Monitor operation of machines and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Milling of material based on product specifications, work orders, blueprints, and drawing requirements.
  • Read and interpret specifications and/or follow verbal instructions.

  • Remove and replace worn parts, bits, or shaping tools.
  • Setup new tools as required.
