Closet Design Specialist

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Closet Design Specialist to join our team in Waterloo, ON and contribute to the success of our organization by delivering products and an excellent client service experience. As the successful candidate, you will possess a high degree of stress tolerance, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy variety in your daily work routine. Reporting to the regional Sales Manager, The Closet Design Specialist, is responsible for helping their customers organize their homes. They will tap into various channels of business development (networking, referrals, cold calling, B2B, social media etc.) to secure and service both new and existing clients with their closet needs.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner.
  • Pursue new sales leads, including homebuilders and homeowner accounts.
  • Manage existing accounts efficiently and without error.
  • Conduct on-site and/or showroom consultations with clients to complete product selections and specifications.
  • Read blueprints to complete designs for estimating/quoting purposes.
  • Collect site measurements to complete accurate drawings/blueprints for production.
  • Complete designs using Cabinet Vision software.
  • Coordinate installations with department manager and client.
  • Create sales orders, take payment, and create invoices as required.
  • Contribute weekly sales budget/forecast information to sales team’s on-going reporting initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

  • 2+ years’ sales experience.
  • 2+ years’ design experience with closets, kitchens or similar experience.
  • Previous industry related experience in construction, kitchens, closets, cabinetry, carpentry, trim, manufacturing considered an asset.
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in, interior design, architectural technology, engineering or other relevant programs.
  • Health & Safety Courses/Training: WHMIS, Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT)
  • The physical ability to: operate a vehicle, bend at the knees and waist, ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and the ability to reach above the shoulder.
  • Knowledge of residential construction industry.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of office administration and clerical practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of sales.
  • Cabinet vision experience is an asset.
  • Critical and creative thinking skills.
  • Independent self-starter with exceptional organizational and problem-solving ability
  • High attention to detail.
  • Dependability – reliable, responsible, and fulfills obligations.
  • Time management skills.

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication ability.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office and CRM.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract.
